First day of moving week and the campus was more busy than ever. Freshman were moving in and taking over while upperclassmen were meeting up to discuss what they had done over the summer watching some of the more over prepared freshman drag their belongings to their dorms or watching as the fussy parents made things awkward. Arianna had neither to really worry about. The only belongings she brought with her were a few boxes of clothing, bedding and her laptop. The rest could be acquired or provided by the school in her eyes. The blond bounced her head slightly as music played in her ears there was a duffle bag on one shoulder and a laptop bag in the other. Her honey brown eyes scanned over the numbers as she hummed along a small smile curving her lips as she spotted the numbers 421. "Ah good!" She grinned sliding her ID card and opening the door. "Hello new home!" She giggled softly looking around the sizable room. "First one, score!" She smirked making her way to the right side of the room and tossing her stuff down on the bare bed. "Should be a good year..." she muttered to herself as she pulled her headphones out of her ear. Her gaze shifted to the other bed wondering who would be her roommate. Ari had decided to be a bit spontaneous and let the room assignment be random.

Moving week was always an awkward time for Chris, considering the space he needed for his art. He usually could get by with just a few sketchbooks, but he also needed space to set up his easel, canvas, and acrylic paints. That usually meant pissing off whatever roommate he had, since most of the people he knew had gone digital. He was just glad that he'd set up his room preference for 'alone'. That way he'd get all the space he needed, and not end up being found out for the other... 'works' he did and posted online. Most of his income came from commissions alone. He lugged his rolling suitcase along, the easel strapped to it. Inside were his mixed media supplies, and the bulky backpack he had on held his laptop and sketchbooks. He had another bag under his arm with his clothes and essentials, and the walk to his dorm was already sapping his energy. By the time he got there he was already a little out of breath, and was looking forward to taking a long nap before unloading his massive amount of stuff. He swiped his ID card, sighing when he heard the lock click open, and he fought for a moment to turn the handle enough for him to back up into the door and open it. He was already halfway in the room when he finally turned around, dark brown eyes falling on a blonde-haired girl. He paused, staring at her for a few long moments as he tried to process what he was seeing. "Oh, uh... I think you have the wrong room." he said, setting down his bag. He knew he had the right room... did they not process his request for no roommate?

Ari hummed as she set her bed spread out her bed spread covering the plane white mattress with spiraling astral colors of space. "Alright!" She grabbed her over stuffed duffle bag and moved to simply toss it in her closet when the door opened. She glanced watching rather confused as a dark haired guy entered the room not even noticing her for a few moments. She tilted her head when he addressed her and pulled out her ID card. "You might honestly have the wrong room." She showed her card which had the number of the dorm printed in the top right corner. Her gaze shifted from his to the trunk he had been toting behind him and noticed the easel. "uh... been a while since I've seen one of those."

Chris stared at her for a few long moments, looking back to his ID card a few times. "I don't think so." he said, turning it towards her to show the room number. "I put in a no-roommate request, you really shouldn't be here." he said, sighing. Of course the administration would screw up somehow. He lugged his stuff to the other bed, raising his eyebrow at her comment about his supplies. "Well, you can't get any real emotion or feeling out of digital art, so... yeah. I like to stick to the traditional stuff." he said, finally dropping his backpack on the bed. He pulled out his phone, wondering if he should call administration directly or just go down to the office. He really didn't feel like walking anymore than he already had, and sat down on the bed as he started dialing the number. He was muttering under his breath as he waited for the hold music to end, mostly quiet curses. He could already feel his temper rising.

A smile started form at the thought of a roommate who still practice traditional style, it really was a fading art and one she did admire. Only certain people ever really had a talent for it. She was always too nervous of making a mistake to try and put anything permanently on canvas. That smile quickly turned into a frown at his comment and she couldn't help but feel very irritated. She rolled her eyes as she tossed her bag in the closet. "Oh great one of the stuck up traditionalist. It would be my luck." She grumbled aloud as she shook her head and shut the closet door. If there was one thing that irritated her it was when those who kept to traditional mediums lorded over the other artists as if they weren't making true art.

As Chris waited for someone to pick up he shot a glare her direction. "Look, I don't have the time, patience or crayons to explain to you why digital will never surpass traditional." he said with a little sigh, about to continue when someone finally picked up. He stood and headed towards the door, stepping outside as he tried to figure out what was going on. After a long argument and some heated words he finally came back inside, shoving his phone in his pocket. "Apparently they have too many people staying in the dorms this year. They can't approve my request for my own room." he growled. "Looks like we'll be stuck with each other the rest of the year." He sighed and turned to his things, grabbing his clothes to put into his own closet. He needed to busy himself to try and suppress the irritation that he was seething with.

Ari was steaming as her supposed roommate strolled out of the room leaving only his insults behind. She clenched her fist's tightly "f**king asshole!" She yelled thought was pretty sure he couldn't even hear it with how close minded he was. No... I won't let him get to me. She growled before making her way to the bed and tossing herself on the bed opening her laptop. Within a few minutes she was in her space listening to music and finishing a landscape started days ago. It was a surreal scape with swirling clouds and rolling hills. Any time Ari was upset she started drawing, it was the only way she kept from blowing a fuse and possibly getting into a lot of trouble with her violent streak. The teen didn't even look up when he entered engrossed in what she was doing. music could be heard faintly from her head set.

As Chris put his stuff away, he noticed a distinct lack of response from her. He finally turned and looked over at her, narrowing his eyes slightly. If there was one thing he hated more than pretentious digital artists was being ignored. He walked over to her, tapping her shoulder lightly. "Hey, did you hear me or not?" he asked, sliding his hands into his pockets with a frown. "Also, calling people names is rude as all hell." he said, not seeming to care that he was the one that started being rude first. It was because of having to haul his stuff across campus, and the fact that once again he hadn't eaten anything. Today wasn't shaping up to be a good day for him at all, and it showed in his attitude.

Ari tapped her pen to her lips as she tried to figure out the right blend of colors to get the effect she wants. Nother layer? No... then it won't blend... hm i could draw over and then merge it... She was so engrossed she didn't notice any movement around her. "Should work..." she muttered under her breath as she went to make her next stroke when something tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped slightly making the mark way off and blotching the picture with bright red. "Ah! Crap." She hissed hitting undo a few times to get the picture back to the way it was before then glared at the the dark haired guy which had been nothing but a bother. She pulled one of her head buds out in time to hear the last but of what he was saying and rolled her eyes. "Oh yes because insulting someone's work is so polite and an appropriate way to introduce yourself!" She snapped "Honestly, not really name calling if there's truth behind it." She remarked putting her ear bud back in and going back to her work wanting nothing to do with the guy.

Chris stared at her as she ranted at him, his jaw tensing as she spoke. "What, I'm supposed to immediately know what kind of art you do within ten seconds of meeting you? f**k me for expressing an opinion then." he growled, turning to head back over to his bed. He was grumbling and cursing under his breath as he sat down and started to unpack his sketchbooks, heat rising in his chest as he tried to force himself to calm down. This wasn't a good start to the year, that much was for sure. If he had to deal with her the rest of the year, he'd go insane... He just hoped that enough people dropped out during the year so he could get his own room. After getting his sketchbooks situated he grabbed his laptop to try and file another appeal to the administration. Not only would he be cramped with her in here, but he knew she'd end up driving him insane.

Ari worked keeping to herself for the better part of two hours before she sighed and sat back on her bed feeling her back pop several times from being in the same position for so long. She didn't care. A large bright smile formed as she looked down at her finished work. "Perfect." She nodded before signing the bottom and saving a finalized copy. "Can't wait!" She laughed softly to herself as she quickly made up an email address to send the final picture to her family and best friend. Meanwhile a printer which was sitting on her night stand buzzed to life and started to print out a finished version of the picture so she could put it in her portfolio.

Chris had been sitting the entire time, staring at his email account as he waited for a reply. Her random mutterings were starting to get on his nerves, but he ignored her for the most part. He'd considered listening to music, but before he could grab his headphones she exclaimed in happiness. He glanced over, the sudden sound of the printer grating on his nerves. It shouldn't have bothered him, but he was already in such a sour mood that anything was going to set him off. He bit his lip and kept quiet, though he could feel the hairs on his neck standing up in irritation. He let out a heavy, obvious sigh, repeatedly tapping the refresh button as if it would make administration respond to his request faster. "Seriously?" he finally asked, looking over at her. "Please don't tell me that you're going to be running that thing at night. I don't need to lose any sleep because of you." he snapped. He knew he was being an asshole, but she was the only real option he had for venting before he started getting violent.

Ari set her laptop on the bed eagerly awaiting for the printer to finish. This is going to be the best one yet! She grinned before noticing her roommates growing irritation. She quirked a brow slightly Seriously? She shook her head looking to the printer, it was a bit on the slow side but it was the only one that could give her the color saturation she needed. She looked over once more as he started making snippy remarks and just crossed her arms over her chest. "Yes because all art is done in an hour and there is an infinite fountain of ink right under this dorm!" She exclaimed in false surprise, almost taunting tone. Then rolled her eyes before picking up the finished print seeing it in a physical form did really bring her work to life. The blond turned shuffling to her bed and used some sticky tack to stick the picture to the wall. First of many!

Chris huffed quietly, rolling his eyes at her attitude. "f**king hell..." he hissed under his breath, shaking his head. She was going to end up being a serious irritation... "Look, I'm a light sleeper, alright? Coupled with insomnia, that means I hardly get more than four or five hours of sleep a night if I'm lucky. We're going to be roommates for a while until they can find me an empty room, is it really that hard for you not to be such a brat?" he asked, staring over at her from the corner of his eye. To make things worse, classes didn't start until the next week, so he'd be stuck with her in the room unless she turned out to be a social person. He kept to himself mostly, and would have nowhere to go to get away. After a moment the admin responded to his email, which only irritated him more. They explained that they could try to find a room, but unless people started to drop out that there would be no chance of that happening.

Ari looked over her shoulder as he tried to explain his situation and just let out a heavy sigh. "Fine, I'll keep quiet at night." She said in an exasperated tone. "Should have just said that in the first place instead of getting all pissy." She flopped back on her bed and picked up her laptop checking her messages from family and friends. Honestly she could get along fine with or without a roommate, Ari was so used to being caught up in her own little world that she could be on a busy train and never realize she missed her spot if she was sketching.
